Barb's Biography

Barb is a native daughter of Minnesota
  • Born at Queens Hospitol in Minneapolis
  • Graduated from North High School in Minneapolis
  • She hold an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Minnesota in Mortuary Science
  • She also holds a Graduate Degree from Bethel Seminary in Theological Studies
Barb's family strengths and values
  • Barb's grandparents fled Nazi persecution and came to America, however her great-aunt died at Auschwitz
  • Bi-racial family-her mother was Jewish and her father was a Black Catholic from North Carolina
  • She is a widow of a pasto and former daughter-in-law of the late civil rights leader, Harry Davis Sr.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome personal challenges including being on welfare
  • Former business owner
  • Mother and grandmother
Barb is a leader with a lengthy resume of social justice, community and religious work.
  • Barb is an ordained minister
  • Founder of Light Foundation Ministries
  • Counselor to drug and alcohol addicts and homeless suffering from HIV/AIDS

  • Missionary to Rwanda, Uganda, and the Congo during its Civil War
